The professional provenance of KMcloud is KMmaster from Pumacy Systems GmbH. Pumacy Technologies AG, parent company of Pumacy Systems GmbH, wants to share their 14 years of experience in knowledge management with the KMcloud service for research and development. Founded in 2000 Pumacy Technologies AG is a spin-off from the Produktionstechnisches Zentrum (PTZ) which includes the Institute for Machine Tools and Factory Management IWF of the Technical University Berlin and the Fraunhofer-Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology IPK.

Pumacy has customers who are known as leading manufacturers from the aerospace and automotive, as well as the plant and machinery industries. Pumacy has extensive references from significant international consultancy and IT projects. In 2006 the company took third prize in the “Sachen Machen” (Making Things) competition sponsored by Dassault Systèmes and the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI, Association of German Engineers) for its for knowledge management software platform solution, KMmaster®.

The KMmaster is an innovative knowledge platform for companies that enables you to quickly access your knowledge in a structured way, systematically share that knowledge, and also secure it. The innovative system facilitates active handling of knowledge, experiences and ideas. To this end, knowledge is jointly developed, documented and integrated into company processes. Exchanging knowledge in project teams and communities, documenting experiences, sustainably implementing lessons learned and speeding up help desk processes – KMmaster can deal with all of these tasks right out of the box. If desired, the software can be extensively adapted to your internal specifications, meaning that it can be smoothly integrated into your procedures. As a user, the desktop enables you to maintain an overview at all times of outstanding tasks, the documents created by you, and the latest comments from your community.

The full text search scans through the entire document inventory in the KMmaster including all attached Office documents. In addition, with the XOR module, you can also make your existing document inventory accessible. In this way, for example, internal file servers, network drives and SharePoints can be as easily searched as individual file directories.

Everything contained in the KMmaster is a live document that can be evaluated, commented upon and discussed. With the integrated evaluation system you can always see all of the current evaluations of documents by the users in your community, including an overview of evaluations of earlier versions of the document.

The organization of the documents on the desktop is supported by categories, keywords and templates. Within the document, document information indicates currentness, authors, contributors and document versions.

A single sign-on at your workstation provides you with simultaneous full access to the KMmaster.

The document distribution feature enables you to ensure that document content is acknowledged and thus to manage mandatory content. Users for whom a document is obligatory can confirm that they have taken note of its content “at the push of a button”.

Simply add files, images or film to your KMmaster documents by “drag & drop” or “copy & paste”.

Company news can quickly be made public and retrieved via RSS. A microblogging tool also supports cooperation and the exchange of information.

The full web-based knowledge management platform can be used in all common browsers. In this way, knowledge can be acquired at any time and in an appropriate form, finalized and made available.
